"If you are traveling to Kanchanaburi with kids, stay at least one night in a floating bungalow. I once stayed at electricity-free River Kwai Jungle Rafts. With no phones or TVs, we just sat in the bungalow, chatting under oil lamps and listening to the river underneath. It is a true disconnect! But if you prefer more comfort, its sister hotels are better for you."

An Itinerary for Inspiration
This day-by-day plan is a great starting point, crafted by our experts to showcase the best of Thailand at a pace that feels naturally comfortable.

Bangkok Arrival
- Upon arrival, your private tour guide and driver will greet you at the airport and then drive you to your hotel. The rest of the day will be free for you to explore at your leisure.
Bangkok | City Top Attractions
- Explore Bangkok's famous highlights in the morning when it is cooler. The landmarks of Bangkok include Wat Pho, the Grand Palace, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, and the Temple of Dawn.
- Try out Bangkok's different forms of public transport — the public taxi boat, a long-tail boat, and the infamous Thai tuk-tuk. This is a fun excursion that gives you a fantastic insight into the capital as well as the local people.
- Conclude your day with a visit to the bustling Chinatown area. Try some local cuisine to satisfy your taste buds.

Bangkok to Kanchanaburi | Markets & Bridge
- Drive out for about an hour southwest of Bangkok to Maeklong Railway Market. What makes it special is that the market is located on a train line where, a few times a day, the train runs directly through the market
- Visit Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, the most popular floating market in Thailand, which is great for photo opportunities, food, and giving you an insight into a bygone way of life.
- Take a 2-hour drive to Kanchanaburi, and visit the famous bridge over the River Kwai, which was built by prisoners of war during World War II, overseen by the Japanese.
- Transfer you to the Phutakien Pier, where you will take a motorized long-tailed boat, passing by unspoiled mountains and jungle, to your hotel — The Float House River Kwai.

Kanchanaburi | Erawan Falls Adventure
- Nestled within the embrace of Thailand's verdant heart, the legendary Erawan Falls cascades down seven tiers, each spilling into luminous, jade-green ponds that beckon you to immerse yourself in their cool embrace.
- Imagine the delight of your children as they splash and play in these natural aquamarine pools, while sunlight dappled through the forest canopy dances on the water's surface.
- Keep a watchful eye on the playful troupes of wild monkeys that call this paradise home.
- Erawan is more than just a park; it's a vibrant tapestry of nature's artistry, a place where memories are made amidst the symphony of the jungle and the soothing murmur of cascading waters.

Kanchanaburi to Bangkok | Fly to Chiang Mai
- Check out of your hotel among the mountains and forests, then drive for about 4 hours to Bangkok airport, and take an hour's flight to Chiang Mai. Upon your arrival, your guide and driver will pick you up from the airport and transfer you to your hotel in downtown Chiang Mai.
Chiang Mai | Mt. Doi Suthep & Thai Food
- After breakfast, visit a vibrant food and flower market where local Thais do their shopping.
- Head for Doi Suthep mountain, where you will visit one of the most sacred temples in Northern Thailand — Wat Phra That (founded in 1383). After climbing up 309 steps, you will be rewarded with a superb panoramic view of Chiang Mai city!
- Continue to Wat Suan Dok, just outside the ancient city walls of Chiang Mai. The temple was built in the 14th century to accommodate important priests visiting from Sukhothai and to be a place for local monks to shelter from the rain.
- Unveils the city's tucked-away eateries and bustling street stalls, each offering an authentic taste of the region's unique soul.
- Awaken your senses to the local flavors: the intoxicating aroma of fragrant spices, the tantalizing tang of flavorful dips, the comforting warmth of rich curries, and the intriguing textures of rare jungle greens.

Chiang Mai | Elephant Interaction
- Heading to an elephant sanctuary, amidst a breathtaking panorama of natural beauty, an intimate encounter with gentle giants awaits.
- You'll be introduced to each of the remarkable elephants, forging a connection and gaining profound insight into their individual stories, daily routines, and unique behaviors.
- Discover the art of crafting herbal medicine balls, then offer these nourishing treats to your newfound companions.
- Embark on a gentle walk alongside the elephants as they meander towards the river's edge.
- You'll have the extraordinary opportunity to bathe and brush these magnificent creatures, fostering a bond of trust and care.

Chiang Mai | Handicraft Village
- Immerse yourself in the heart of Chiang Mai's artisanal heritage with a captivating half-day visit to San Kamphaeng and Bo Sang villages.
- San Kamphaeng, aptly nicknamed "Home of Handicrafts," boasts workshops showcasing the region's diverse artistic traditions. Witness skilled artisans crafting everything from intricate silk textiles and gleaming silverware to beautiful lacquerware and lifelike wood carvings.
- In Bo Sang, a village renowned for its vibrant culture, delve into the unique art of umbrella making.
- Learn how mulberry bark is transformed into paper, then hand-painted into colorful masterpieces. You may have the opportunity to observe the entire process, from meticulous design to final assembly.

Chiang Mai to Koh Samui
- After breakfast, you will have a private transfer to the airport, and from there fly to Koh Samui. Upon your arrival in Koh Samui, we'll provide a private transfer to your beautiful hotel by the beach.
